RAKSHA BANDAN Raksha Bandhan, also Rakshabandhan, or simply Rakhi, is an annual festival centred around the tying of a thread, bracelet or talisman on the wrist as a form of bond and ritual protection Raksha Bandhan is the festival that celebrates the bond of love between brothers and sisters. 'Raksha' means protection and 'Bandhan' means bound. Thus 'Raksha Bandhan' means the 'Bond of Protection'. On this day, Sisters tie a special band on their brothers' wrist as a mark of affection.
